The Régie du bâtiment licence
In Quebec, a contractor carrying out construction work must hold a Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) licence covering that work. You can check a licence and its subcategories for free in the RBQ online registry. Entreprise SGB’s licence is 8352-1534-39.
What the contract should specify
- Contractor’s name, address and RBQ licence number
- Detailed description of work and materials
- Total price and payment terms
- Planned start and end dates
- Who obtains the permits
- Procedure for changes during the work
- Warranties offered, if any
